About Me

Larry Silverstein is the chairman and founder of Silverstein Properties, a New York-based real estate development firm. Silverstein Partners owns nearly 16 million square feet of office, residential and retail properties in the U.S., including 7 World Trade Center in Manhattan. Silverstein signed a 99-year lease on the World Trade Center towers for $3.2 billion in July 2001, seven weeks before the 9/11 attacks. Silverstein Properties and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey ultimately received a $4.55 billion insurance payout and built new towers on the site. The firm developed the 7, 2 and 3 World Trade Center office towers. A fourth building, 5 World Trade Center, will be a residential high-rise when it's complete.
