About Me

Magdalena Martullo-Blocher owes her fortune to her stake in EMS-Chemie, the Swiss polymer and chemical manufacturing giant. She took the company's reins in 2004 when her father, Christoph Blocher, departed to take a seat on the Swiss federal council. He sold his shares to Magdalena and her three siblings, Rahel, Miriam and Markus, who are also billionaires. Before joining the EMS-Chemie board in 2001, she held management positions at Johnson & Johnson and Swiss beverage maker Rivella. In 2015, Magdalena followed in her father's footsteps into politics: she was elected to the Swiss parliament as a national councilor.
