About Me

Archie Hwang founded HMI, formerly known as Hermes Microvision, in 1977, which specializes in optoelectronic devices, used in semiconductor manufacturing. He sold the company to ASML of the Netherlands for $3.1 billion in 2016. Hermes-Epitek, the parent company of HMI, has offices in mainland China, Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan. Hwang, who also goes by the name Hwang Min Qi, is the chairman of the group. Heron Neutron Medical, a group subsidiary that has independently developed the boron neutron capture therapy cancer treatment system, went public on Taiwan's Emerging Stock Board in 2024.
