About Me

Bom Kim is the founder of South Korean internet giant Coupang, which went public on the New York Stock Exchange in 2021 and is now headquartered in Seattle. Mimicking U.S.-based Amazon, Coupang is disrupting South Korea's online retail space by slashing prices and investing heavily in swift deliveries. In 2018, it raised $2 billion from SoftBank's Vision Fund at a $9 billion valuation, making it Korea's most valuable privately-held startup. The 2021 IPO of Coupang was the biggest U.S. listing of an Asian company since Alibaba in 2014.
