Charles Beauduin controls the textile machinery company Vandewiele and 25% of listed company Barco, which specializes in high-end digital projection, imaging, and networking solutions. The Beauduin family has its roots in the sugar industry and sold sugar factory Tiense Suiker to Germany's Südzucker in 1989. In 1993 Beauduin took over Vandewiele group, which was founded in 1880 as a machinery servicing company and converted into a weaving machine manufacturer by Michel Van de Wiele in 1921. The company produces textile machinery for flooring, home linen and fashion under brands that include Titan, Aros, Loepfe and Eutron.
