Chase Coleman III started out as a hedge fund investor, but his Tiger Global Management has evolved into a broader investment firm. Tiger Global Management oversees $50 billion in assets. Its venture capital arm is now its biggest unit. Prior to starting Tiger Global in 2001, Coleman worked for hedge fund legend Julian Robertson. His longtime partner Scott Shleifer joined Tiger Global in 2002 and cofounded its venture business, which he led until the start of 2024. Tiger Global's hedge fund fell more than 50% in 2022 after an impressive first two decades. It rebounded 20% in 2023 and 2024.
