Elisabeth Douglas is the widow of industrialist Gustaf Douglas, who died in 2023. Born von Essen, both she and her husband came from nobility, but only she from wealth. Gustaf Douglas was a Harvard graduate that ran state-owned TV channel SVT2 and newspaper Dagens Nyheter. In 1985, Gustaf Douglas acquired a controlling stake in a struggling Swedish security firm, eventually turning it into investment firm Investment AB Latour. The Douglas family still control Investment AB Latour, which has a large stake in the world's biggest lock producer, Assa Abloy. Elisabeth and her sons Carl and Eric are all billionaires.
