Airports tycoon G.M.Rao controls India-listed airports operator GMR Airports (formerly known as GMR Airports Infrastructure.) The company operates airports at Hyderabad and Delhi as well as the Kualanamu International Airport in Indonesia. It also provides services to the Mactan-Cebu International Airport in the Philippines. In 2022, he hived off the non-airports business into GMR Power and Urban Infra. Rao has a 50% stake in Indian Premier League cricket team Delhi Capitals. The GMR Group opened the GMR School of Aviation in Hyderabad in partnership with European aircraft maker Airbus in 2024.
