About Me

Hu Baifan is the chairman of Shenzhen-listed Zhejiang NHU, one of the world's largest producers of vitamins A and E. After graduation from college in 1982, Hu spent six years teaching chemistry at a remote vocational school in China. With money borrowed from his fellow teachers, Hu in 1988 started a small factory to make industrial ethanol. That factory later expanded into ingredients for vitamins. His younger brother, Hu Baishan, is the company's vice chairman and chief executive.
