About Me

Leyla Tara Suyabatmaz is one of more than a dozen family members who hold shares in ENKA, one of Turkey's largest construction and energy companies. ENKA, which was cofounded in 1957 by Sarik Tara and his brother-in-law, Sadi Gulcelik, is Turkey's leading private electricity producer and also operates in real estate, tourism, transport and trade (construction equipment and machinery). In Moscow, ENKA owns a hotel, shopping malls and approximately 370,000 square meters of net rentable Class A office space. Sadi Gulcelik died in a plane accident in Saudi Arabia in 1980, and Mehmet Sinan Tara took over in 1984 at age 26. His son Agah Mehmet Tara became CEO in 2012, at age 29.
