About Me

Qasar Younis is the cofounder and CEO of vehicle software startup Applied Intuition. The company develops operating systems and simulation tools designed to power everything from planes and tanks to automobiles. Younis and cofounder Peter Ludwig initially focused on selling simulators and tools to self-driving car startups but expanded to work with major car makers like General Motors, Nissan and Volkswagen. The Sunnyvale, California-based company was last valued at $15 billion when it raised a $600 million fund round in June 2025. Younis was born in Punjab, Pakistan, and grew up in Detroit, Michigan, after his parents immigrated to the United States. He studied at the General Motors Institute and later Harvard Business School. Before founding Applied Intuition, Younis had launched startup TalkBin, which was acquired by Google in 2011, then worked on Google Maps and later served as COO of startup accelerator Y Combinator.
