Raamdeo Agrawal cofounded Motilal Oswal Financial Services as a small securities firm with his pal Motilal Oswal in 1987. The company now offers a range of services including investment banking and mutual funds. Agrawal grew up in a village in Chattisgarh in central India and came to Mumbai for his accountancy studies. In 2023, Agrawal made a pledge to donate 5% of his stake in Motilal Oswal to philanthropic causes, such as education, health and rural upliftment.
