Tse Ping is a member of the billionaire Chearavanont clan from Thailand and the guiding hand behind Hong Kong-listed Sino Biopharmaceutical. He stepped down as chairman of Sino Biopharmaceutical in 2015 and ceded the role to his daughter Theresa, while staying on as senior vice chairman. Ping's son Eric rose to CEO in 2022 and is the company's largest individual shareholder. Trapped in China during the turbulent Mao-era Cultural Revolution, Tse was shipped off to the countryside from the southern city of Shantou and lost the opportunity to attend college.
