About Me

Wee Ee Chao, son of the late banker Wee Cho Yaw, is chairman of Singapore brokerage United Overseas Bank Kay Hian as well as chairman of Haw Par Corporation, maker of the popular Tiger Balm ointment. He has spent more than four decades growing UOB Kay Hian into one of the largest brokerages in Asia. He replaced his father as Haw Par's chairman in 2024. He was chairman of the Singapore Tourism Board for two years until 2004. In March 2025, the estate of his father, the late Wee Chow Yaw, was transferred to him, his mother and siblings, completing a process that happened over many months.
