Yan Junjie is the chairman and CEO of Chinese AI model company MiniMax Group. The company sells products such as audio- and video- generating models to enterprises as well as individual developers. The mogul took the firm public in Hong Kong in January 2026, raising $618 million. It previously raised funding from investors including Alibaba, Tencent and Chinese gaming firm miHoYo. Liu Wei, billionaire cofounder of miHoYo, is a board director at MiniMax. Yan worked at fellow Hong Kong-listed Chinese AI company SenseTime for over six years before founding MiniMax in 2021.
